A super-lightweight shin-style chasen with a beautifully rounded shape and an ultra-small, lightweight handle. Just a few strokes of whisking are enough to create wonderfully fluffy microfoam in your matcha.

Made from premium black bamboo, these chasen are exceptionally durable and have a beautiful glossy finish. The limited-edition woven strings in blue and pink are especially adorable.

Chikumeido is a renowned traditional chasen maker from Takayama Village, a region with over 500 years of chasen-making history spanning 25 generations, dedicated to preserving and passing down the craftsmanship and traditions of this historic village industry.

Mr. Kubo Sabun, the current owner of Chikumeido, is also the Chairman of the Takayama Traditional Chasen Artisans Association.

Each handmade chasen takes a considerable amount of time and craftsmanship to produce. The bamboo is carefully aged and dried for three years, followed by a meticulous hand-making process that takes 1–3 months and involves numerous detailed stages.

Every chasen is exceptionally lightweight, with fine, delicate tines and beautifully polished, highly durable bamboo. When used and cared for properly, it is designed to resist mold and breakage and can last a long time.
